What’s included in the kit?

The Educator Chick Package offers the same equipment as both family Packages. It also comes with an Educational booklet containing care instructions, fun facts and other engaging insights, ensuring educators have everything they need for a successful hatching and learning experience.  Our Educator kits NOW also include downloadable lesson worksheets.

How long does the hatching process take, and what should we expect?

Chick hatching process typically takes about 21 days from the time the eggs are placed in the incubator. And 28 days for ducks. Educators and students can expect to see the chicks/ducks to begin to pip and hatch around this time, offering a fascinating opportunity to observe the lifecycle of chicks/ducklings.

Do I need to turn the eggs?

No, the incubator we provide automatically rotates the eggs once every hour to ensure even development.

How long is the rental?

The Chick Hatching Kit  rental is for 31 days and the Duck Hatching Kit is for 38 days. That includes setup, incubation, hatching, and approximately 10 days of caring for the chicks/ducklings before return or rehoming.

Question 5

Where do the chicks/ducks go after?

You can:
Return them to Hatchables (we’ll rehome them to our farm or a trusted local farm), or
Keep them, if you’re ready for long-term chicken care.

How much space do I need?

Not much! The setup fits on a table or counter and plugs into a standard outlet. Make sure it's in a quiet, stable temperature room.
